After graduating from Northumbria University with a degree in business, I moved to London looking for a career which was fast-paced and could offer progression based on performance – recruitment offered both and my journey began. 4 years later myself and Sam started Allexo, and what an incredible journey it’s been so far!
What is your area of specialism?
I have a breadth of experience recruiting across all areas of marketing and commercial, with a particular focus on category management and insights – niche areas which many businesses struggle to recruit in. The market is always evolving, particularly within the areas of eCommerce, digital and analytics, so my focus is continually growing in these areas as well.
How is life at Allexo Search?
It may seem biased, but through conscious effort and commitment, I think we’ve created a great environment to work in. We’ve proactively shied away from working long hours and a KPI driven environment, with the belief that having a clear mind and enjoying what you do yields the best results for the clients and candidates we work with, and of course ourselves.
We’re in an exciting period right now, where everyone has a clearly defined role as part of the wider team, from business development through to recruitment, marketing and operations, and clear milestones for success as we grow.
Best moment in recruitment?
My best moments in recruitment were making our first placement at Allexo in our first month from Sam’s spare bedroom, and seeing Cansu hit her target for promotion to Consultant within 6 months of her joining the business.
Any advice for a new starter?
Listen, work hard and be yourself. The days of hard sales and aimlessly smashing targets are over. There are no short wins and the sooner you start building valuable, meaningful relationships, the quicker you’ll fall in love with what you’re doing and achieve the success recruitment has to offer.
