National Account Controller - FMCG Food & Drink
National Account Controller with a global leader in the beverage industry. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment within the FMCG sector.
The Role
As National Account Controller, you'll lead a multi-functional customer account team, developing winning strategies and driving sustainable growth across major retail accounts. This is a strategic role that requires a deep understanding of the UK retail landscape and the ability to navigate complex negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of multi-year customer strategies to drive growth ahead of category and competition
- Manage operating sales target, including responsibility for gross profit and margin performance
- Develop and negotiate Joint Business Plans with key accounts, focusing on unlocking growth in lower share accounts
- Lead a team to deliver all aspects of account performance - forecasting, sales, profit, cash, and engagement
- Build broad networks and deep relationships within customer organisations to create cut-through for brands and categories
- Coach and mentor team members to drive performance improvement and accelerate talent development
The Ideal Candidate:
We're seeking an experienced commercial professional with:
- FMCG commercial experience, including significant experience as a Large Grocery Account Manager or Controller
- Strong understanding of trade terms, mix management, and pricing dynamics
- Excellent planning, forecasting, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to build strategic customer networks and influence at senior levels
- Experience in developing compelling, actionable plans and applying shopper insights
- Strong financial acumen and ability to manage complex P&Ls

Berkshire - 3 days office / 2 days home
Package:
£100,000 + £7K Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
