Storck - Senior Category & Insights Manager

Storck is a leading global confectionery company, known for iconic brands such as Werther’s Original, Toffifee, Merci and Bendicks. Operating across chocolate, toffee and premium gifting categories, Storck products are sold in over 100 countries worldwide. Founded in Germany and still family-owned, the business generates annual revenues exceeding €2 billion, with a strong focus on quality, tradition and long-term brand building.

The Brief

Storck were seeking a Senior Category & Insights Manager, responsible for leading the UK Category function and team to provide insight on category and commercial opportunities, develop category plans, and work with internal teams to drive growth across brands, customers and channels.

Reporting to the UK Marketing Director, this senior position sits within a wider marketing team of 10, spanning brand, category and shopper marketing, and manages two direct reports.

The core focus was to drive mutual category growth for both Storck and their retail partners through compelling insight, analysis and recommendations. Acting as the ‘voice of the retailer’  internally, the Senior Category & Insight  Manager champions a “category-first” approach that delivers a triple win for Storck, the retailer and the consumer.

Having successfully placed both a Category Executive and Junior Category Manager with Storck previously, Allexo were appointed to lead the search exclusively using our Partner Solution.

The Process & Results

  • A detailed briefing call with the Marketing Director and Head of Strategic Planning (key decision makers)
  • A Storck company branded advertising campaign with targeted LinkedIn advertising
  • A full search of the active & passive market to deliver a qualified shortlist within 14 days
  • A pre-scheduled shortlist review to discuss profiles in detail
  • Joint commitment to ensuring a positive candidate experience that kept momentum from first call to offer

Working through a structured process, two final candidates progressed to offer stage, with the preferred candidate delighted to accept.

The role was successfully filled within five weeks from brief to placement — a great collaboration all round.
