Senior Buyer - Food Retail

Package: £40,000 - £45,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

Location: Central London

A leading Food Retail business based in the heart of London are in search for experienced Buyers looking for the next challenge in their career. This Senior Buyer role will be responsible for managing key categories within the business and will also be accountable for the end to end management of food & drinks suppliers, logistics, shelf life and production practices without jeopardising product/ company quality for consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing all supplier relationships and ensuring the right suppliers are always selected to support the needs of the business
• Negotiating best possible terms with suppliers and ensuring the correct documentation of agreements as well as ensuring a smooth transition of all said terms / agreements
• Developing strong relationships with additional and existing key stakeholders
• Working cross-functionally with various stakeholders, in particular Marketing, NPD and Operation - Supporting these stakeholders to achieve effective implementation of activities
• Ensuring the continuous improvement of supplier ROI
• Managing / supporting product and promotional launches within time and budget
• Supporting / mentoring a Junior Buyer

The Senior Buyer role will require the following:

• Minimum 4 years experience as a Buyer within food and/or drinks
• Strong analytical skills in cost / benefit analysis
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver to deadlines in time / within budget
• Proven strong negotiating / influencing skills
• Confident communicator, both written and oral
